From the Press Release:

On the evening of March 13th findfurnish will be dedicating a whole room of their Northeast Minneapolis vintage store to It Records, a thoughtfully curated selection of around 4,000 records from some of the Twin Cities best collectors.  The Grand Opening Celebration will be from 6 pm – 10 pm at 13 5th St NE in Minneapolis.

Findfurnish came up with the name as  a way to recognize the considerable inventory and inspiration Let It Be Records is contributing to the venture.  They will be one of the main suppliers, along with online sellers Riffs Ahoy and Omnium Vinyl.  Let It Be Records’ downtown Minneapolis store closed in 2005.  The It logo mimics the sign that hung on the storefront, tapping into great memories for Twin Cities vinyl enthusiasts. While not meant to be compared to or compete with the legacy of that store, it is meant to honor Let It Be’s place in history. Since 2005 Let It Be Records has stayed very busy with its online business and will continue to do so.

The store will function as a coop of sorts. Having multiple sellers will allow for a wide variety of quality rotating stock.   In addition to bins of some of the best vinyl around Let It Be, Riffs Ahoy, and Omnium Vinyl are making their vast online inventory of over 65,000 titles available in-store for special order.  It Records will also carry quality jazz, soul, post-punk and 80s reissues.  New releases will veer toward adventurous psychedelic titles, a selection of great artists from other countries as well as music from Twin Cities local labels and bands.

Findfurnish co-owner Erik Wivinus will be curating It Records.  Erik is a musician, DJ, an avid record collector and organizer of the annual Heliotrope festival.  He brings years of experience in the art and business of curating music collections.

Ryan Cameron of Let It Be Records commented, “Erik is one of a very short list of people I would trust with even a portion of the store’s name. He’s a long time friend, record hound, and musician. As for me, vinyl was a huge part of my life before, during, and after the Let It Be store closed. It’s in the blood, as it is with Erik. The torch has been passed.”

After the Grand Opening It Records will be open during regular findfurnish store hours Monday through Friday 11 am – 7 pm, Saturdays 10 am – 7 pm and Sundays 11 am – 5 pm.  Follow findfurnish’s feeds on Facebook and Instagram  for updates.
