Music@Franconia: Malamanya

July 16, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Now in its 20th year, Franconia Sculpture Park has perfected the ultimate summer music series! Join them on July 16, at Franconia’s Earthen Amphitheatre for three excellent Saturday afternoon events. Concert admission is free – parking is $5 per vehicle. Free tours of the park exhibit between sets.

July 16th Malamanya: Afro-Carribean dance music! Malamanya is a United States based band comprised of musicians who share a mutual respect and enthusiasm for traditional rhythms and melodies from Cuba and Latin America. Their style is vintage and their sound is classic. Their onstage energy and compositions reflect the communal, complex, and celebratory spirit prevalent in these musical genres.

Opening on July 16th is the Tropical Zone Orchestra, a 12 member, award winning Puerto Rican salsa orchestra featuring a powerful horn section and 3 energetic singers.

Concerts are held on Saturdays from 2pm-6pm. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, grab a bite or beverage from the famous Lizard Lounge, and enjoy the afternoon with friends, family, and community.

This activity is made possible, in part, by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
