ABOUT THE ALBUM: No Man’s Land is a parallel universe where women are the dominant voice in Hip Hop. Think of it as this world being flipped inside out and everything that once was is now the opposite. The album includes a set of illustrated Nursery Rhymes that accompany the project to help you understand this parallel universe beyond the music alone. An experience in No Man’s Land is meant to be multi-sensory, not just about listening. It’s about using your own voice, seeing into this world, feeling it, tasting it and of course seeing what goes on in the midst of the crossfire. The album and release party will serve your senses and take you on a journey through the rough terrain that is No Man’s Land.
Desdamona is a fiscal year 2015 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature, and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Desdamona has pulled out the stops for her new release, No Man’s Land. Featuring such esteemed local musicians such as Lioness, Tish Jones, Thomasina Petrus, Ellis Delaney, BDotCroc, Lydia Liza & PaviElle French and co-produced by Big Jess this new album packs a punch. Continue reading
