Combining a longtime staple of the Eau Claire music scene with a genre currently taking the city by storm, Doks Robotiks blends jazz with hip-hop into a volatile cocktail best served in a live setting. The collective prides itself on a large cast of musicians that contribute vocal hooks and horn lines to its funky hip-hop core, hearkening back to the golden era ethos of Digable Planets and A Tribe Called Quest while simultaneously searching for that new, unfound sound. Summit Brewing is pleased to be partnering with Eureka Recycling again, Minnesota’s only nonprofit with a mission to demonstrate waste is preventable. Together we are working towards zero waste at our upcoming Backyard Bash. We are aiming to reduce discarded material and to ensure that disposable items generated at the event will be compostable or recyclable. Volunteers will make it easy for event-goers to recycle and compost. We’re looking forward to seeing how close we can come to zero while having a great time!
Special thanks go out to the Saint Paul Jaycees and our Summiteers for being event volunteers. We couldn’t do it without you! We also want to thank 89.3 The Current for their sponsorship of our event, as well as Culligan for suppling free water stations throughout the grounds.
The Minnesota United FC will be at our Bash this year from noon until 4pm! Kids can color their very own soccer scarves from noon to 2pm, and United players will be in attendance to sign autographs and take photos from 2 to 4pm.

The evening will include a reading by the author, as well as performances by Lydia Liza, Blythe Baird, Mimi Nguyen, Chava Gabrielle, Sarah Ogutu, and more!

Sierra DeMulder is an internationally touring performance poet and educator, a two-time National Poetry Slam champion, and a published author (The Bones Below and New Shoes on a Dead Horse, Write Bloody Publishing). Her third full-length collection, Today Means Amen, is forthcoming spring 2016 with Andrews McMeel Publishing.
