“Hey there,” Ben Burwell and company gladly hail the unknown ear, “…How long has your entire been cold and tired? Give me your hand, we’re gonna find you fire.” This warm welcome greets the listener on “Your Thief,” the first track off of Taj Raj’s latest, Night Speech, and continues for a strong seven minutes. Patrick’s Cabaret presents the 5th annual Longfellow Roots, Rock, and Deep Blues Festival. This year, the all-day music marathon will be taking place on Saturday, July 18 at Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue in the Longfellow community of South Minneapolis. Recently honored as “Best Rock Festival” by City Pages Best Of 2014 issue and “Best Block Party” in Star Tribune’s Best of MN issue, this year’s installment will again boast 4 musical stages showcasing 20+ local, regional, and national acts in a wide variety of styles and genres. In addition, this community event will feature local DJs, dance performance, visual artists, performance art, craft foods and beverages.
