We Are The Willows
We Are The Willows are an orchestral indie rock band based out of South Minneapolis.
In November of 2014, the band released their second full-length album, Picture (Portrait) pt. I, based off of 350 letters written by Peter’s grandfather to his grandmother while he was stationed in the Southwest Pacific during World War II.
In April of 2016, the band is celebrating the conclusion of Picture (Portrait) with part II, an introspective, and more sonically diverse response to Picture (Portrait) Pt. I.

Monica Martin ( PHOX):
Monica Martin is the singer and principal songwriter of Wisconsin Folk Pop band PHOX. Her songs and voice will make you feel feelings. They’ll remind you that you’re human.

The Music Lab is an independently owned music school in south Minneapolis founded by local music darlings Jillian Rae and Josie Just. Their vision of creating an inspiring space for teaching and learning music of all kinds, has blossomed into a community of active performing musicians and aspiring musicians of all ages.

The Music Lab will be turning 5 years old in January 2016, and to celebrate they are putting on a show at the Parkway Theater in south Minneapolis. Performances will include bands made up of some of the Music Lab’s very own instructors (Jeremy Messersmith, We Are The Willows, Improvestra) and a few special student performances. The show is open to the pubic and for all ages. The proceeds will go right back into the Music Lab, to help fund future musical programs and their first ever Music Lab scholarship fund.
