The Soap Boxing Poetry Slam is teaming up with Minnesota’s own Button Poetry, the largest digital distributor of spoken word in the world, to feature nationally renowned poet Rudy Francisco and Internet phenomenon Neil Hilborn, for the grand opening of Button Poetry Live. There will be a poetry slam competition open to the public. CAMP Bar, downtown Saint Paul. Monday, October 5. 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. $10, $7 for students. 18+. Tickets available online for priority seating (front rows and tables held until show start) or at the door. Doors at 7:00 pm, show at 8:00 pm.

Button Poetry launches Kickstarter for Button Poetry Live
Soap Boxing Poetry Slam, is teaming up with Minnesota’s own Button Poetry to create Button Poetry Live. They have already won a $40,000 matching grant from the Knight Foundation, they are also raising $10,000 with Kickstarter to open the show. Button Poetry is globally known, and this monthly event will feature a poetry slam competition as well as nationally known and local poets. There also will be live music, raffles and more. The first show of the series will feature World Poetry Slam Champion Rudy Francisco and local phenomenon Neil Hilborn at Camp Bar in Downtown St. Paul, and will be hosted by Sierra DeMulder.
