Brass Bands are a celebration of community and a fixture in the culture of New Orleans. Last Friday (Black Friday) Carnage The Executioner with Lt. Sunnie, BatMN, Channeling Grey, Just Wulf as well as many guests. There was a killer light show, and people painting in the audience. DJ X-Caliber kept the beats going between sets. Our Photographer Vito Ingerto proclaimed “I’m more of a rock guy, but this was one of the best shows I’ve seen this year!”.
Jim Walsh’s Mad Ripple Hootenanny celebrated its 10 year anniversary at The Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis on November 10th, 2016. The host of the Hoot–Jim Walsh, was there to facilitate the post-election feelings and frustrations that the players carried burdensome in their hearts. In fact, many of the people inside of the Cedar had walked along with anti-Trump protestors–Gary Louris of the Jayhawks amongst them–as they journeyed to the show. Continue reading →
