batteryboy is proud to present Southern Theater Sessions: Act 3, our third and final Sessions at the Southern. This is a two-night concert event at Minneapolis’s Southern Theater. In addition to batteryboy performances each night, the Sessions shows will feature one-of-a-kind, intimate sets by Chris Koza, Al Church, Jillian Rae, Joey Ryan, Erik Koskinen and Moon and Pollution. All set in the spare, intimate surroundings of Seven Corners’ venerable Southern Theater.
These shows represent a rare, musician-only event, with no corporate sponsors/bookers/promoters assisting with organizing the gigs in any way, only Cobey Rouse of batteryboy and his musical cohorts. Because of this, all proceeds go directly to the artists and back into The Southern Theater.
For artists, they get to challenge themselves a bit and possibly re-work their songs to fit the event. They might find something they love about that version and try it again live, or it might be the only time anyone ever hears that version. Either way, it’s always a special experience for both audience and artists at the Southern Theater Sessions.
