Rich Mattson has been rocking Minnesota for a long time. The first time I saw him play was with The Glenrustles, the early 90s at The Whole Music Club.

They stood out, in a sea of noisy punk and grunge back then. Well, they were a little grungy, but they were mostly just good rock. Think Neil Young or Kurt Vile before there was a Kurt Vile.

This is a new song, from an upcoming release Totem coming out in early 2019. Mattson still has it, and it just keeps getting better.

Rich Mattson and the Northstars – CD Release

Rich Mattson and the Northstars CD Release gala premier show at the TURF CLUB, St. Paul MN June 6 2015-along with the Rank Strangers who are releasing 3 RECORDS this year, will have their new one available as well..and M.p. Latterell, gifted songwriter to the Cities along with his new band. Closing the ceremonies will be some buddies from Austin TX, Sounds del Mar who are on the road promoting their new album, “Miami Vice’n” which is like going to a kegger on acid at midnight. In other words, a great time to be had at the Turf Club on a Saturday night in June.

The show will start EARLY, to accommodate children of all ages. We sure hope to see ya!
