It’s May 1st and this is the release date of Briann Kocka’s new album Dreamlife. Lines from the press release say it best “Evoking the instrumentation and mournful harmonies of Americana pioneers Gillian Welch and Alison Krauss, as well as the avant-folk sounds of artist Sam Philips…”

The CD VOICE: SONGS FOR THOSE WHO ARE SILENCED supports the work of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota. The campaign is called MN Girls Are Not For Sale and its mission is to end the sex trafficking of minors. The Safe Harbor Law was passed with the support of Amy Klobuchar on the local level in 2011 and in 2015 a federal law was passed to change the legal perception of the perpetrator of sex trafficking to the victim of it instead. Minnesota is number one in the systemic response to sex trafficking, and its system serves as a nationwide model.
