VOICE: SONGS FOR THOSE WHO ARE SILENCED

The CD VOICE: SONGS FOR THOSE WHO ARE SILENCED supports the work of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota. The campaign is called MN Girls Are Not For Sale and its mission is to end the sex trafficking of minors. The Safe Harbor Law was passed with the support of Amy Klobuchar on the local level in 2011 and in 2015 a federal law was passed to change the legal perception of the perpetrator of sex trafficking to the victim of it instead. Minnesota is number one in the systemic response to sex trafficking, and its system serves as a nationwide model. Several MN artists have come together to put out this Compilation CD titled Voice: songs for those who are silenced and its a fundraising project for Women’s Foundation – MN Girls Are Not for Sale campaign Bringing awareness and helping to end sex trafficking of children in Minnesota.

Saturday April 18th at 11 AM, we’ll close 39th Avenue and welcome local musicians and artists to celebrate the musical community, which flourishes around independent record stores. Fourteen acts will perform on two stages throughout the day.
As always, we’ll also have a huge selection of special limited edition Record Store Day releases.
