Minneapolis hip-hop and rap duo, Vision the Kid, give music a new found hope. For the people who have been a hip-hop and rap fan since the ‘90s or just loves the hip-hop from the ‘90s, like me; maybe realizing that an era had ended some years ago. The realness that Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. had is not there anymore. Vision the Kid has a love and passion for music that is not always prominent in today’s music and artists. Vision the Kid takes old school jams like Bob Seger and Queen, samples the music and maybe even the chorus, then goes over it with their original and inspiring lyrics. Back in June I reviewed a short EP from Chruth Fabian, who resides in Rochester, MN. I figured it would be a year or so before I heard from him again and low and behold a new EP has entered my email inbox.
While the music comes across as interesting and unique, I am not sure what an audience would look like for Chruth Fabian. It seems more fitting for a cafe or small jazz club, and might not fit the local rock clubs. Continue reading →
