The 2015 Be Heard MN Youth Poetry Slam Team Send Off Show

Each year, the Be Heard MN Youth Poetry Slam series identifies six youth who will represent Minnesota at Brave New Voices, the annual, international youth poetry slam festival. And each year, TruArtSpeaks throws a Send Off Show, showcasing and celebrating the team. Featuring surprise guests as well as the team itself, this will be a night of dynamic spoken-word and hip hop.

2015 marks the 10-year anniversary of B-Girl Be, the first international festival showcasing and celebrating women artists in the founding elements of Hip-Hop. Encompassing MCing, DJing, breakdancing, and graffiti, B-Girl Be influenced thousands of artists and audience members since its inception in 2005, challenging and changing the perceptions and roles of women in this revolutionary art form as it continues to evolve.
To commemorate this anniversary, we are presenting Space & Time, a visual art exhibition that will include new work by artists from previous B-Girl Be exhibitions as well as emerging artists from Hip-Hop scenes around the world.

Live Painting! DJs! Dancing! MCs! Spend the night perusing Space & Time in the Gallery and watching graffiti writers paint the outdoor gallery, including the front and side walls.
